Wake up Frankie joins Ranka Kustannus

Hell yeah! We are proud to announce that the Helsinki-based metal band Wake up Frankie has joined Ranka Kustannus! This is a killer signing for Ranka as Wake up Frankie is among the most promising rising metal acts in Finland at the moment.

”Wake up Frankie is a band to look out for and has the potential of becoming part of the success story of Finnish metalmusic export. We are very thrilled over this signing and look forward to working with the band”, comments the owner of Ranka, Riku Pääkkönen.

Wake up Frankie made their made their grand entrance to the metal scene in 2019 by winning Tuska Torstai -contest and getting a slot to play at the festival. The win gave a proper kickstart for the band and soon after they released the debut EP Green is the New Black (2020). The EP became an immediate streaming success with the hit single ”The Outlaw” getting placing on multiple metal playlists on Spotify.

Last fall Wake up Frankie took part in Ranka’s Blind Channel Tribute -project. This collaboration gave the band the chance to present their take on the BC-song ”Timebomb”, which became an immediate hit and one of the most streamed covers of the bunch. The version conveys well the signature style of Wake up Frankie, ”thrashrock”: old-school metal, aggressive riffs and catchy sing-along choruses – delivered with an in-your-face attitude. This is what Wake up Frankie is all about and that’s what we will be bringing to you in the future!

Wake up Frankie: ”Getting a record deal is a dream come true for us and we are super excited to start the next chapter in our journey with Ranka! Thanks for everyone who’s been supporting us along the road and, most importantly, believed in us. We can’t wait to get our new songs out!”

So it’s about time to get some new Frankie tracks out there, don’t you agree? No need to wait too long, new music will be available soon. Meanwhile, take a spin or two of ”Timebomb” here.
